Apple showed its hand at WWDC today. Siri now performs tasks: drafting emails, scheduling meetings, multi-step actions, using Gemini's reasoning and what it can see on your device.

That is a real product. It is genuinely useful.

Here is what it is not: everything about your life.

What Apple Intelligence can see

Apple's context loop reads your Apple calendar, your Apple Mail, your iMessage conversations, and what is on your screen. For many tasks, that is enough.

It cannot see your WhatsApp conversations. It cannot see your 20 years of chat history with Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. Any data living in a non-Apple, non-Google silo is invisible to it.

Siri uses what Apple and Google can see. That is a meaningful constraint.

On "on-device AI"

Apple will frame on-device inference as the privacy answer. The framing is real: simple tasks stay on the device. Moderately complex requests route to Apple's Private Cloud Compute. But the heaviest reasoning tasks route to Google Cloud, running on Nvidia hardware. The model itself came from Google. Your personal data flows to Google's reasoning infrastructure for anything non-trivial. The reported deal giving Google AI prominence on Apple devices runs to roughly a billion dollars annually.

On-device is not the same as user-owned.

The judgment layer

Even a complete context picture is not the same as judgment.

If Siri drafts a message for you, it drafts the same message regardless of who receives it. Your VP, your spouse, your investor: same draft, same framing.

Mandaire applies a per-recipient disclosure gate before any output leaves your context. The same request produces structurally different responses based on who is reading them. The context layer is the other half of that sentence. A swappable brain is only useful if the brain persists when you switch. Apple holds the interface; the context stays with Apple.
